France: Orange dominate speed tests and stability

Orange lead 4G download speeds for the last quarter averaging speeds of 23.58Mbps, ahead of Bouygues, Free Mobile and SFR, who each recorded average speeds of 19.79Mbps, 15.73Mbps and 13.37Mbps respectively. Orange also lead regionally in Ile-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées.

As Orange continue to float the idea of a potential merger in the French market, the company have also been busy testing 5G capabilities across greater Paris and Île-de-France. The telco has already been testing 5G in the cities of Lille and Douai, and will also carry out new technical tests in Marseille using 5G equipment from its partner Nokia.
