Guatemala: Claro top upload speeds in our latest tests


With average speeds of 6.53Mbps on 4G, Claro lead our latest upload speed tests in Guatemala, based on results collected between April and June of this year. As well as leading network stability in Colombia, Claro have recently began expanding their 4G+ service across Latin America, showing promise of faster upload and download speeds for their customers across the region.

Movistar lead download speeds 

Overall Guatemala rank 118th in the world for download speed according to the 2018 worldwide broadband speed league, down 27 places since last year. Movistar are leading that race, ahead of Tigo and Claro, with average speeds on 4G of 13.21Mbps, almost 4Mbps faster than second place Tigo and nearly 6Mbps faster than third place Claro.

Tigo top latency 

Similar to our results from last month in Guatemala, Tigo lead our latency findings with average speeds on 4G of 46.8ms. Movistar, who rank third in our latency chart, have some catching up to do. However parent company Telefonica, are certainly making strong strides across the pond as they test 4.9GB LTE in Spain, with the anticipation of being able to reach download speeds of up to 1Gbps.
