In the latest Mobile Experience Report for Finland, Telia was found to have the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage in the country with 89.4% of tests good enough for applications like HD video calling, movie streaming, or mobile gaming. DNA was close behind for an Excellent Consistent Quality percentage of 87.9%, followed by Elisa in third place with 84.2%, 5.2% behind first place Telia.

In this deep dive, Tutela took a look into Finland’s operator performance at a city-level, with the spotlight on Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku.
Helsinki, Uusimaa
In Helsinki, DNA had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage at 92.3% of tests good enough for a range of applications including HD video calling, movie streaming, or mobile gaming. Telia was only 2.5% behind first place DNA for an Excellent Consistent Quality percentage of 89.8%, and Elisa in third place with an Excellent Consistent Quality percentage of 86.0%.
When it came to speeds, DNA had the fastest median download speed in Helsinki with 34.1 Mbps, 5.1 Mbps faster than Telia and 5.6 Mbps faster than third place Elisa.
DNA also had the fastest median upload speed in Helsinki but the operator difference was much smaller, with Telia and Elisa only behind by 0.6 Mbps and 0.8 Mbps, respectively.
Tampere, Pirkanmaa
In the city of Tampere, Telia had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality at 92.9%. DNA and Elisa, who tied for second, were close behind with only a difference of 6.7-6.8% for an Excellent Consistent Quality percentage of 86.1-86.2%.
Despite its second place ranking in the Consistent Quality metric, DNA had the fastest median download speed in the city of Tampere with 33.2 Mbps. Elisa and Telia tied for second place.
For upload speeds, Elisa and Telia tied for first place with a median speed of 12.4 Mbps and DNA was only behind by 0.3 Mbps.
Turku, Finland Proper
In Turku, DNA had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality percentage in the city with 92.3%. Elisa and Telia had a statistical tie for second place with an Excellent Consistent Quality percentage of 89.9% and 88.7%, respectively.
DNA had the fastest median download speed in Turku with 34.5 Mbps, 3.1 Mbps faster than Elisa and 7.4 Mbps faster than third place Telia. DNA also had the fastest median upload speed in the city with 13.1 Mbps, however only 0.4 Mbps and 0.5 Mbps faster than Elisa and Telia.
