In the latest Mobile Experience Snapshot for El Salvador, Tigo had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality at 60.6%. The operator also had the highest Core Consistent Quality, the fastest median download and upload speed, and the best one-way latency result.

Tigo leads in Excellent Consistent Quality

In Common Coverage Areas across El Salvador, Tigo had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality, meaning 60.6% of subscribers had a network experience suitable for use-cases like 1080p video streaming, real-time mobile gaming or HD video calling. Movistar was in second place by 11.1% for an Excellent Consistent Quality of 49.5%, followed by Claro at 42.5%, and Digicel in last place with 31.7%.

For Core Consistent Quality, no operator in El Salvador reached the 90% threshold; however, Tigo had the highest Core Consistent Quality at 80.3%, meaning subscribers had a network connection that met the requirements for use-cases like SD video streaming, social media sharing and web browsing. Claro was in second place for a Core Consistent Quality of 77.6%, followed by Movistar at 75.4%, and Digicel at 60.4%.

Tigo also leads in download and upload speeds 

In Common Coverage Areas across El Salvador, Tigo had the fastest median download speed at 10.9 Mbps, followed by Movistar at 8.4 Mbps, Claro at 6.4 Mbps, and Digicel at 5.3 Mbps. 

For upload, Tigo was in first place for a median transfer speed of 7.8 Mbps, followed by Movistar at 5.0 Mbps, Digicel at 3.1 Mbps, and Claro in last place with 2.7 Mbps, 5.1 Mbps slower than Tigo.

Tigo leads in latency, Digicel in second place 

In Common Coverage Areas across El Salvador, Tigo had the best one-way latency result at 38.0 ms. Despite its last place ranking in three of the five metrics tested, Digicel was second place by only 4.1 ms for a result of 42.1 ms, followed closely by Movistar at 42.8 ms, and Claro in last place at 43.5 ms.
