In the latest Mobile Experience Snapshot for Costa Rica, Kolbi ICE dominated in four of the five metrics tested, including the highest Excellent Consistent Quality and the fastest download speeds in the country. 

Kolbi ICE had highest Excellent Consistent Quality

In Common Coverage Areas across Costa Rica, Kolbi ICE had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality, with 60.1% of subscribers having a network experience suitable for use-cases like 1080p video streaming, real-time mobile gaming or HD video calling. Claro and Movistar statistically tied for second place with a difference in performance of at least 16% behind Kolbi ICE. 

In regards to Core Consistent Quality, meaning subscribers having a network experience suitable for use-cases like SD video streaming, social media sharing and web browsing, no operator reached the 90% threshold, however both Movistar and Kolbi ICE were statistically tied for first place with the highest Core Consistent Quality, followed by Claro at 74.6%.

Kolbi ICE had fastest download and upload speeds

Kolbi ICE outperformed in the download speed test with 17.0 Mbps, 7.6 Mbps faster than second place Movistar and 11.5 Mbps faster than Claro. For uploads, the competition was much tighter as Kolbi ICE and Claro statistically tied for first place and Movistar was in second place with 5.4 Mbps.

Kolbi ICE latency performs best on 4G network

On a 4G network, Kolbi ICE was the most responsive in Common Coverage Areas across Costa Rica with 47.0 ms; however, Claro was only behind by 1.6 ms. Movistar on the other hand had the least responsive network with 63.2 ms, 16.2 ms slower than first place Kolbi ICE.
