In the latest Mobile Experience Snapshot for Austria, A1 was the winner in all five metrics tested, including having the highest Excellent Consistent Quality at 89.6%. 3 was in second place for Excellent Consistent Quality and for both download and upload speeds, while Magenta took second place for Core Consistent Quality and latency.
A1 had highest Excellent Consistent Quality
In Common Coverage Areas across Austria, A1 had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality with 89.6% of subscribers having a network experience suitable for use-cases like 1080p video streaming, real-time mobile gaming or HD video calling. With a difference in performance of 4.9%, 3 was in second place with an Excellent Consistent Quality of 84.7%, followed by Magenta in third place with 83.8%.
For Core Consistent Quality, meaning subscribers having a network experience suitable for use-cases like SD video streaming, social media sharing and web browsing, all three operators easily reached the 90% threshold, with A1 out in front with a Core Consistent Quality of 95.1%. Magenta narrowly edged into second place with a Core Consistent Quality of 93.9%, followed by 3 at 92.7%.
A1 had both fastest download and upload speeds
A1 was the clear winner in the download speed test, with a median transfer speed of 39.4 Mbps, 6.7 Mbps faster than second place 3 and 11.8 Mbps faster than third place Magenta.
The same could not be said in the upload speed test however, with first place A1 only 1.3 Mbps faster than both 3 and Magenta at a median transfer speed of 10.0 Mbps.
A1 had best latency result
A1 had the most responsive network in Common Coverage Areas across Austria with a median one-way latency result of 14.7 ms. Magenta was not far behind with a result of 15.0 ms, while 3 was the least responsive at 17.2 ms, 2.5 ms behind first place A1.
