In the latest Mobile Experience Snapshot for Argentina, Claro led the leaderboard in two out of the five metrics tested, including highest Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality. Personal was the leader in the remaining three categories namely download speed, upload speed and latency.
Claro had highest Excellent Consistent Quality
In Common Coverage Areas across Argentina, Claro achieved the highest Excellent Consistent Quality with 76.3% of subscribers having a network experience suitable for use-cases like 1080p video streaming, real-time mobile gaming or HD video calling. Personal was in second place with an Excellent Consistent Quality of 71.7%, lagging behind Claro by 4.6%. Movistar was in third place with 48.5%, lagging behind first place Claro. by over 27%.
In regards to Core Consistent Quality, Tutela’s metric for measuring a network experience suitable for less demanding use-cases like SD video streaming, social media sharing and web browsing, none of the operators reached the 90% threshold. Claro was in first place with a Core Consistent Quality of 87.8%, followed by Personal at 83.4%, and Movistar in third place with 66.2%.
Personal had fastest median download and upload speed
Personal had the fastest download speed in Common Coverage Areas across Argentina with a median download speed of 19.7 Mbps, just over 2 Mbps faster than Claro and 7.2 Mbps faster than last place Movistar. Personal also had the fastest median upload speed of 9.1 Mbps, followed by Claro with an upload speed of 8.7 Mbps and Movistar in last place with a speed of 6.1 Mbps.
Personal had the best latency result on a 4G network, closely followed by Claro
Personal won the award for the most responsive network with a median one-way latency of 27.7 ms followed by Claro with a median latency of 29.4 ms. Movistar again placed last with a median one-way latency of 37.0 ms, about 10 ms slower than first place Personal.
