Written by Tom Luke | 09-Aug-2018 11:00:00

In our latest report based on data collected in June, Movistar lead download speeds when averaged across both 3G and 4G, with speeds of 9.31Mbps. AT&T follow close behind, reaching average download speeds of 9.16Mbps and Telcel place third with average download speeds of 8.17Mbps.

When we look at download speeds on 4G only, Telcel jump to second place, just ahead of AT&T with speeds of 10.92Mbps, however Movistar still lead the group at 14.57Mbps. Averaging 6.91Mbps, Telcel also lead our upload speed chart ahead of both At&T, in second place, and Movistar who finished third.

Telcel lead latency

At just 51.2ms, Telcel also top our overall latency chart with the quickest results for June. When we drill down into certain regions, we found AT&T actually performing best for latency in Distrito Federal and Nuevo León with Movistar placing top also in the México region.

Telcel perform best for network stability

With the lowest average scores for jitter and packet loss, Telcel demonstrate the best network stability of the group. Movistar also perform well for jitter but are let down by their high average packet loss.

Our findings for Mexico are based on 13.6 billion network quality measurements including 684 thousand speed tests in June 2018. Our latest complimentary Mobile Experience Report is available to download from the Tutela Insights portal.
