In Tutela’s latest Mobile Experience Report for Costa Rica, Kolbi ICE was shown to have the highest percentage of Excellent Consistent Quality with 71.4%. Kolbi ICE also had the fastest download speed in the country with 12.7 Mbps, and the best latency on a 4G network with 46.3 ms. 

Kolbi ICE dominates Consistent Quality

Kolbi ICE had the highest Excellent Consistent Quality in Costa Rica with 71.4%, far exceeding other operators performance with Movistar in second place with 45.8% Excellent Consistent Quality and Claro in last with 42.7%, a difference of 25.6% and 28.7% respectively. In regards to Core Consistent Quality, the margin is much lower with Kolbi ICE again in first place with 95.3% but only a 2.4% difference in performance between the operator and second place Movistar. Claro is in last place again with 85.4% Core Consistent Quality. 

 

Kolbi ICE has strong lead on download speeds

Kolbi ICE had a healthy lead over the competition in regards to download speeds over the November 2019 - January 2020 period, with a median transfer speed of 12.7 Mbps. Movistar in second place had a median download speed of 7.2 Mbps, and Claro is in third with 4.4 Mbps. 

For upload, we see the performance gap tighten with Kolbi taking out first place by only 0.5 Mbps for a result of 4.3 Mbps, Movistar with 3.8 Mbps, and Claro with 3.7 Mbps. 

 

Kolbi ICE latency performs best on 4G network

Claro performs better for latency testing on both a 4G and 3G network with a 49.5 ms and 57.1 ms result, respectively. Kolbi ICE had the best one-way latency on a 4G network with 46.3 ms, and the best latency on a 3G network with 56.4 ms. Movistar came in last place with 52.5 ms on a 4G network and 61.6 ms on 3G.
