Argentina: Movistar overtake Personal to lead download speeds

With average download speeds of 9.02Mbps on 4G, Movistar lead our latest download speed chart based on data collected between March and May of this year. From our data we can see Movistar take the lead in April and continue to rise throughout June. Movistar are working to further expand their network coverage and quality in a deal with Ericsson to transform their Radio Access Network in Argentina over the next three years.

In Buenos Aires, Personal and Movistar are only separated by 0.01Mbps, with average download speeds on 4G of 9.63Mbps and 9.62Mbps respectively.

Personal top upload speed chart

Personal sit at the top of our upload speed chart with average speeds of 5.83Mbps. Football fans will be even more excited as Personal have announced they’re able to stream all 64 matches of the world cup at no extra cost on their mobile devices, handy for those pesky matches that kick off during office hours.

Movistar perform best for latency

With average speeds of 34.7ms, Movistar also top our latency chart for the last three months. For those visiting Russia for the world cup, Movistar have followed Claros lead in extending their roaming offers to 100 countries including the host nation, enabling their customers to use their data abroad for a fraction of the cost.

Claro best network stability in Cordoba and Santa Fe

Although consistently third place for speed and latency, when we drill down regionally, we can see Claro actually has the best network stability in both Cordoba and Santa Fe, with the lowest overall scores for average jitter and packet loss.
